Dear Diesel Owner,
HERE'S THE DIRTY SECRET IN THE DIESEL INDUSTRY
… Equipment manufacturers detune their diesel engines under 2000 RPM to meet emission standards.
For literally 17 years working class daily driver diesel owners like yourself have told us... "this truck has plenty of power... I just need better fuel economy.
So we understand your frustration with buying a $70,000 diesel and only getting 15-16 MPG.
It's sounds crazy but if you want to increase your fuel mileage you have to increase your diesel's power. I am not talking over-all power... just the power that was de-tuned under 2000 RPM.
Compare 16 MPG vs 19 MPG:
If you can increase your fuel mileage 3 MPG you can save roughly $3000 in fuel costs every 100,000 miles.
The second biggest complaint we here daily from diesel truck owners is the turbo lag or sluggish throttle response.
Sluggish turbo spool is a good indicator of the DE-TUNED low-end power by manufactures trying to meet emission standards.
I don't know about you but when I hit the throttle I want my truck to get up and go. This is not just for my ego it is for safety reasons.
Getting stuck in the middle of an intersection waiting for your turbo to kick in is a real pain in the arse... let alone dangerous.
